Contemporary is an art form which has grown to be very popular in time. It uses unpredictable changes in rythm, directions and speeds.
It uses core strength and leg work with strong use on the torso.
Modern dance is a rythmic dance style, often seen on stage for musical theatrical productions.The style uses travelling steps, high kicks,leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style.
This is a style which combines songs spoken by acting, dialogue and dance. This is great for those who love singing, dancing and acting all roled into one.
HIP-HOP / STREET
Hip Hop is a street style originating from the bronx in New York city in the 70's. This is a free, funky soulful expression of moevement.
Jazz dance is a style forever changing and generally influenced by pop music and can be seen in concerts or video clips for artists.
This style can enhance fitness levels, flexibility, strength and co-ordination.
The dancer uses the floor to strike the floor to beating out different rythms, with dancers wearing tap shoes (with a small metal plate on the toe and heels).
Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals such as Tap Dogs or Billy Elliot.
